Beginner class

This class is for children attending 1st and 2nd grades.

Oral remains a priority but writing skills are also developed.

On year 1, the introduction to writing is done through learning how to read (decoding), cursive writing and copying short words or sentences. In addition, dictation by adults is progressively replaced by the children's first original writing pieces. Vocabulary covers the basics:  children learn how to talk about numbers, colors, family, food but also recycling and even dinosaurs! Simple sounds are studied.

On year 2, complex sounds are taught, writings become more dense and personal, while reading gets more complex.  Topics vary, ranging from prehistory to francophony, ecology, music...
